Many players find it enjoyable to "put some blood" in a match without betting money, drinks, favors, or the like. One way to do this is to play rated games.

The New York Go Center uses the ratings system of the American Go Association. Not all games qualify for AGA rating. However, if players agree that a game will be rated before play begins and if they play without assistance from other players, books, computers, notes, etc., the result may be submitted using the club's computer.

You will need to record each player's name and AGA number, the number of handicap stones and komi, the rule system, and of course, who won.
